Macbeth

Lincoln recently ended his run as the title character in Shakespeare’s Macbeth, the final performance of his time as an undergrad at Southern Utah University. Under the direction of Peter Sham with fight choreography by Christopher DuVal, Lincoln’s performance was focused on the humanity of the Scottish thane and the relatability of the choices leading to his downfall.

Lincoln’s 2022 summer was spent with SimonFest Theatre Company, appearing towards the end of the season as Juan Peron in Evita at the Egyptian in Park City and the Center for the Arts at Kayenta. This was Lincoln’s second time collaborating with SimonFest, and his first time acting under the direction of Clarence Gilyard.

Lincoln’s 2022 Spring Semester was spent appearing as Eilif, the eldest son, in Bertholt Brecht’s Mother Courage & Her Children at Southern Utah University. Directed by Scott Knowles, the production was heavily informed by Brechtian acting theory and performance techniques as well as current international conflicts.

The Tempest

Lincoln spent the beginning of the school year as Stephano in Southern Utah University’s production of Shakespeare’s The Tempest, directed by Peter Sham. Performing under the stars in the outdoor Engelstad Theater on the grounds of the Utah Shakespeare Festival, Tempest represented a return to live theater for the SUU performing arts department following over a year of digital and streamed performances due to the effects of COVID-19.
